Carly Shannon and team win ACC’s 2014 ACC Young Professionals Innovation Competition
Carly Shannon, an aviation planner with C&S, and her team were selected as the winners of the 2014 Airport Consultants Council (ACC) Young Professionals Innovation Competition. Their submission, Airports Integrating Resilience (AIR): Airports Learning to Bounce Back details how to build a virtual sustainability/resiliency workgroup with a foundation built on easily accessible web applications and social media. They will present their submission at the February 2015 ACC/AAAE Airport Planning, Design and Construction Symposium in Denver, Colorado. Carly’s team included Kate Andrus with Mead & Hunt, Inc., Tiffany Jones with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and Karin Holland with Haley&Aldrich.
The competition is part of the larger efforts of the ACC Young Professionals Forum – a means to engage the young professionals in ACC member firms and enhance their professional careers. Targeted for industry professionals that are under the age of 35, the Young Professionals Forum is intended to provide networking, mentoring, education and career growth opportunities.
