DCMO BOCES Additions and Renovations
C&S provided full scope construction management services, including preconstruction, construction, and closeout services for DCMO’s capital improvement project. The project included extensive additions and renovations to both the Chenango campus in Norwich, NY, and the Harrold campus, in Sidney Center, NY. The overall project cost was $48 million.
The existing 83,000-square-foot facility at the Chenango campus has a new 19,000-square-foot gymnasium/cafeteria addition and a 2-story, 30,000-square-foot classroom addition for special education and general studies.
At the Harrold campus, a 4-story 63,000-square-foot addition connects two existing buildings, providing a total of 140,000 square feet of new and modernized space. The original campus was situated on a hillside and one of the challenges of this site was to carve the existing bedrock in preparation for the new addition foundations. The four-level addition houses a new gymnasium, cafeteria and classrooms. Most of the original facilities, including classrooms, vo-tech spaces, library/media center and administrative spaces, underwent extensive renovations. C&S analyzed the complex phasing and sequencing needs of the project and worked closely with the owner and architect to reduce the overall project timeline by 12 months.
