Conway Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center
C&S was contracted as the designer and builder for the remediation of an existing northern section of the Conway Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center in Orlando, Florida. After the geotechnical report documented unstable soil conditions, C&S structural engineers worked with a specialty contractor to design stabilization piles to mitigate further damage to the existing structure. C&S designed a demolition and phasing plan for the project, then designed new interior and exterior walls. As the design/builder of this project, C&S worked with the owner to manage the time sensitivities and schedule of the project, which was a major concern due to the structural failure of the facility. The owner wanted to stabilize the building as quickly as possible to mitigate further structural failure and unsafe living conditions. The construction was phased so not to disrupt operation within the facility.
