Corning Community College West Loop Road and Parking Lot

C&S designed and provided construction administration of the West Loop Road and parking lot reconstruction at Corning Community College. The improvements were components of the college’s master plan update to alleviate parking shortages and vehicle/pedestrian conflicts. Highlights of the $2.2 million construction project include:

  • 2,300 linear feet of asphalt roadway on a new alignment, including sidewalks.
  • Reconstruction and expansion of five parking lots with a capacity of 600 vehicles.
  • 34 new decorative light poles and fixtures along all new roads and in parking lots.
  • Storm water detention pond meeting the latest NYSDEC regulations.
  • Installation of 45 drainage structures to improve conveyance of stormwater runoff.

The project also included constructing a new pedestrian dropoff lane adjacent to the expanded gymnasium entrance, which was being constructed concurrently. The project required an accelerated schedule to accommodate construction from May to August while classes were not in session.
