C&S Acquires JPW Crane and Rigging Assets

September 2008

New 35-ton CraneJPW Riggers, Inc., has sold to C&S Companies all assets associated with its daily crane rental and rigging services division, including two 90-ton cranes, one 50-ton crane, one 35-ton crane, one 15-ton crane, 12 forklifts with capabilities ranging from 2 to 15 tons, and other various rigging and specialty equipment. JPW made the decision so it could better focus on its rapidly growing markets for large cranes (200-ton capacity and over) and windmill construction and maintenance. JPW’s affiliate, JPW Structural Contracting, Inc., will continue to operate as a premier structural steel fabricator and erector, being the only company in Upstate New York with AISC certifications in Fabrication of Complex Steel Structures and Advanced Steel Erection.

C&S, headquartered in Syracuse, is a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, planning, construction management, and construction company. The firm’s locally operated crane and rigging division serves industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and general contracting markets. The purchase of equipment from JPW immediately adds needed capacity to the firm’s growing workload and increases C&S’s ability to provide its customers with full-service project solutions from concept through completion. C&S is a member of the Specialized Carriers & Riggers Association.
