C&S Donates to Potsdam Humane Society
The C&S Companies donated $500 to the Potsdam Humane Society with a check presentation at the agency’s shelter on Madrid Avenue, on Wednesday, February 10. C&S gave the donation as part of their work developing an airport master plan for the Potsdam Municipal Airport. As part of the project, the firm conducted online business and pilot surveys in the local community. As an incentive for people to participate, a donation was made to the Humane Society for each completed survey. Based on the survey responses, C&S was able to make a donation to an organization that makes a huge difference in the local community. Charlie McDermott, C&S’s airport planning manager commented, “we were happy to be able to support an organization like the Potsdam Humane Society that does so much for the community. For us, this was a win-win situation because we were able increase participation in the community-based survey and help a local not-for-profit at the same time.”
The Potsdam Humane Society (PHS) has been providing love and humane care for unwanted, abandoned, and sick animals since 1957. Their mission is to find a loving home for every adoptable animal that finds its way to their front door. PHS serves the greater Potsdam area and contracts with nine other communities in the region to provide animal control services. Potsdam Municipal Airport, owned and operated by the Village of Potsdam, is a public-use, general aviation service facility that serves the aviation needs of St. Lawrence County and the North Country region of New York state. The airport is in the process of completing a master plan. The study will determine the extent, type, and schedule of development needed to accommodate existing needs and future aviation demand at the airport.
