Gordon Davids Joins C&S as Chief Engineer of Bridges

C&S is proud to announce that Gordon Davids has joined the firm as chief engineer of bridges. Hewill lead C&S's bridge management program for rail services. Prior to joining the firm, Davids was with the Federal Railroad Administration as a bridge engineer and chief engineer-structures at the administration's headquarters since 1992. Davids helped launch the ASLRRA Bridge Committee in 2007. He was a key participant in the development of the ASLRRA Bridge Management Program and headed the FRA’s Rail Safety Advisory Committee (RSAC) task force charged with development of federal bridge regulations stemming from the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008. He first entered railroad service in 1958 as a trackman on the New York Central railroad. After graduating with a degree in civil engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1963, he held various positions in the engineering and maintenance of way departments of the New York Central, Delaware and Hudson, Erie Lackawanna and Pittsburgh and Shawmut Railroads. He then joined FRA in 1975 as the regional engineer at Philadelphia, and came to headquarters in 1977. He is a life member of AREMA, serving on a number of committees, including 9-Seismic Design, 10-Structures Construction and Maintenance, and 15-Steel Structures.
