C&S Companies Acquires TekResource Service Corp.
C&S Companies announced the acquisition of the assets of TekResource Service Corporation (TRSC) of Ormond Beach, Florida. The deal, which closed on January 8, 2008, involved the purchase of technology previously marketed by TRSC as Zero Link computer sharing software. C&S has refined and further developed the technology into its next generation, using it as the core of our new FiddleheadTM product. The inventor of the technology, David Peterson, has joined C&S’s Fiddlehead group as its chief technology officer. Financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed.
“C&S is very excited to bring this revolutionary new computer-sharing technology to the K-12 and higher education markets. There is a tremendous need within educational institutions to provide more access to desktop computers with a significant reduction in budget expenditures”, said William Brod, president of C&S Operations Inc., the firm within C&S Companies responsible for the Fiddlehead product.
Fiddlehead is a proprietary computer-sharing technology that works with any modern desktop computer, leveraging excess computing power to run up to five individual workstations without any loss in performance. Fiddlehead supplies a software solution to a hardware problem by allowing deployment of significantly more desktop workstations for any given budget. In addition, the COSMOSTM technology within Fiddlehead provides a bridge from a Microsoft Windows operating system to the open source software world, allowing the use of freeware available from a Linux operating environment.
