Masonry Restoration

C&S has a dedicated team of architects and engineers that specialize in building envelope assessments. Our understanding of a variety of assemblies, combined with in-depth practical experience, results in an informed analysis of existing conditions. We are experienced in all types of masonry systems, sealant joints, gutter and drainage systems, parapets, roofing systems, doors, and windows. Additionally, we have a historical architect qualified by the National Parks System with broad experience working with historic buildings. Our trained professionals investigate, define, and resolve facade problems to eliminate future deterioration and expense. We are also experts in door, window and roofing systems. To complement our architects we have on-staff structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil engineers available for support.

Investigation and Design Services

We provide services starting with assessment phase evaluations and budgeting to complete construction bid documents with refined cost estimating. Our designs include new construction, rehabilitation design, and emergency stabilization assistance. For existing conditions, we assess cause of problems in order to design effective, durable, and cost-efficient rehabilitation.

Capital Planning Assistance

We can assist in preparing a long-term capital plan that will maximize the dollars spent on your facilities assets. Work needs to be done in the most logical sequence in order avoid wasting time and money. Rehabilitation in the wrong order or with the wrong techniques or materials could irreversibly damage the building system, causing increased expenses in the future. We can assist with budget forecasting, phase planning, rehabilitation, and regular maintenance. As with any building system, a masonry envelope has known life cycle needs that we know how to anticipate.
