Site Investigations

C&S brings critical thinking skills and significant experience with sites ranging from corner gas stations to large tracts of undeveloped property to multiple acre industrial sites. We conduct environmental investigations associated with the discovery of a spill or subsurface contamination, real-estate transactions, and brownfield redevelopment, as well as construction/demolition/rehabilitation of buildings and infrastructure. The scientists and engineers at C&S understand the importance of obtaining the right information to satisfy regulatory agencies while balancing the needs of our customers.

Environmental investigations cover a wide variety of “desktop,” field, and intrusive services that our customers may need, including:

  • Phase I/II environmental site assessments (ESAs) for real-estate transactions
  • Pre-construction/pre-demolition ESAs to identify and plan for environmental issues before site work begins
  • Subsurface investigations to assess the nature and extent of subsurface contamination
  • Soil vapor investigation
  • Environmental forensics, which may help identify the source or timeframe of a release
  • Assessment and implementation of remedial technologies ranging from conventional earth removal and in-situ aeration methods to in-situ thermal treatment and monitored natural attenuation
  • Compliance audits
  • Environmental impact statements
