Joe Dietrick is now secretary for the Phoenix Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers

Congratulations to Joe Dietrick, who was recently chosen to serve as the secretary for the Phoenix Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The decision was made final this past week and the local branch members look forward to supporting him and the rest of the ASCE Phoenix Branch Officers in this upcoming year. The mission of the Phoenix Branch of ASCE is the advancement of the science and profession of engineering, in a manner consistent with the objectives of the American Society of Civil Engineers, with a particular emphasis on delivering value to the Phoenix Branch membership.

Joe has been with C&S just under a year and brings significant depth to the civil engineering practice in the Southwest through his 37 years of experience with a wide variety of infrastructure projects. He manages projects related to site plans and subdivisions, highway and bridge design, hydraulic and hydrologic studies, stream enclosures, bridge inspections and construction inspections. He also prepares and reviews construction drawings, construction specifications, engineering reports studies, and stormwater management reports.

Joe previously served as director of engineering for the Municipality of Murrysville in Pennsylvania, where he was the project manager for the design and construction of the Murrysville Municipal Building and Murrysville Public Works Facility. He was responsible for the design and construction management of the municipal road paving and reconstruction program, and was lead engineer and lead surveyor for Palmer Place subdivision, a project completed for golf legend Arnold Palmer.

Joe is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and is a licensed professional engineer and professional land surveyor in several states and a Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality. Before moving to Arizona Joe was president of  his local chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineers, president of the local chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors, chairman of the Latrobe Industrial
