Syracuse Label Light Manufacturing and Office Building

C&S designed and provided construction phase services for a new 60,000-square-foot headquarters for Syracuse Label and Surrounding Printing. The project received a Silver Engineering Excellence Award from ACEC-NY. The building was designed with BIM and includes a 52,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building for production and warehousing, and an 8,000-square-foot office area with easy expansion for growth. Open office areas have significant daylighting and feature conference rooms, training rooms, and showcase room displaying products. There is a break room, kitchen, and lockers within the production space. The production floor has different presses in each bay with efficiency and expandability in mind. The warehouse has high-piled storage centrally located around loading docks. A humidification system manages the humidity for various printing media and reduces static. Lighting control zones allow flexibility for UV-sensitive inks. The design schedule was condensed to meet a move-in date less than a year from commencement. C&S’s in-house construction company established a schedule and protocol to move equipment to the new facility that did not impact operations and orders.
