Grand Island Schools Athletic Facilities
The Grand Island district-wide capital project included improvements at the high/middle school campus and three elementary schools. C&S provided site/civil engineering for these major upgrades. Improvements at the high/middle school included a new technology building addition; parking lot expansion and reconstruction and the creation of separate parent and bus drop-off lanes; a new sports stadium with an 8-lane synthetic surface track with steeplechase, artificial turf multi-use field with 1,500-seat aluminum bleachers, press box and scoreboard; new dugouts and fencing improvements for the existing varsity and JV baseball fields, and tennis court repairs and resurfacing. The project also included a large subsurface underground detention system to mitigate existing flooding and contain the increase in runoff from the expanded parking lot as well as a separate stormwater management facility for the stadium. Site improvements at the elementary schools consisted of a building an addition, parking lot addition and utility replacements and repairs.
