SUNY Upstate CT Equipment Replacement
The C&S team provided electrical and HVAC analysis and design to support the installation of new computed tomography (CT) equipment in two existing CT rooms on the third floor of University Hospital’s east wing. The existing CT equipment was approximately 22 years old and had outlived its useful life. The new equipment will provide a lower dose of radiation to patients and high image quality including spatial resolution, temporal resolution, and spectral imaging.
C&S reviewed existing system conditions in each room, installation requirements for the new equipment, current code requirements, cooling loads, ventilation air changes, electric loads, and circuit protection. Our analysis demonstrated that the existing HVAC systems could serve the existing rooms without changes. Several electrical modifications were required and we prepared the necessary construction drawings to show the new work and coordination with the equipment installation.
