Diversity

In 2020, C&S established its IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Awareness) Alliance, an active volunteer group that has grown to over 80 employees. The group’s approach to inclusion is simple—to promote personal and professional growth by cultivating and sustaining a safe and inclusive atmosphere where everyone can feel a sense of belonging. Participation is open to all employees, with subcommittees designed to focus on specific areas of interest.

Diversity refers to the differences between people in a team, organization, or community. At C&S, we use this wheel to highlight the many potential differences including protected classes of age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, gender, and physical abilities and many other characteristics like appearance, identity, experiences, and beliefs. C&S has and will continue to make measurable progress on this diversity and belonging journey. We are committed to learn, grow, and evolve to cultivate our workplace culture so C&S continues to thrive.

The IDEA Alliance advances its initiatives in the following seven focus areas. Each focus area group has an action plan and meets regularly to maintain momentum in their initiatives.

C&S has also established several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs):

  • The C&S Women’s Network
  • The C&S Young Professionals
  • The C&S African American Partnership
  • Fully Remote

These voluntary, employee-led groups, provide resources and support for both career and personal development and foster a culture of inclusion and feeling of belonging. Learn more about our ERGs.
