John Trimble—President and CEO
John is responsible for overseeing all of the company’s design and construction projects and staff. He also executes the strategic and tactical operational plans for C&S, leads in optimizing business functions, and continues to diversify and grow the business nationally. John has been with C&S since 1990. He has also served as C&S’s vice president overseeing facilities design services and as president of our construction management company. Prior to that role, John managed the industrial facilities design group, worked as a general manager for our construction management group, project/operations manager for C&S’s construction company and design engineer in the transportation design group. John earned a degree in civil/structural engineering from Clarkson University and is a licensed professional engineer in numerous states. He is also a LEED accredited professional.
John Spina—Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
John began his career at C&S in 1975 and his leadership and dedication has contributed to the organizational growth and national expansion of the firm. He has a broad experience base and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of C&S’s administration group, which includes human resources, marketing, business development information technologies, executive leadership, and management. John is on the board of directors for the C&S Companies, and is a member of the executive team. In addition, John is a steward of the community and is involved with many organizations. He currently serves on the board of trustees for the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) in Syracuse. He previously served as president of the board of directors of Partners for Education and Business and chairman of the board of directors for Leadership Greater Syracuse. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and a 1997 graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse.
Michael Walker—Chief Financial Officer
Michael has worked with C&S for more than 30 years, as the company has continued to grow significantly. Mike has lead C&S’s efforts to evolve our insurance, finance, and accounting infrastructure to accommodate a business that has grown seven-fold since he joined the firm. Mike has consistently provided outstanding leadership, as well as professional, knowledgeable guidance as he has overseen this significant growth financially. He has developed a new accounting department strategy, including adding a controller and implementing a new state-of-the-art accounting software system for project management, cost control, and corporate financial management. All of this has been done while keeping a keen eye on controlling overhead cost and maximizing profitability.
Ellen LaBerge—Chief Legal Officer
Ellen has been with C&S since 1996 and has served C&S during a period of significant growth and change. During her tenure, she has led the legal aspects of our growing firm, overseeing many mergers and acquisitions and all corporate legal issues. Ellen has a reputation as a trusted and thoughtful advisor and her counsel is sought on a wide range of business matters. Ellen is a 1980 graduate of Dartmouth and a 1983 graduate of Notre Dame Law School. She was among the first women to attend Dartmouth, entering just three years after the school began admitting women. As a seasoned, practicing attorney for more than 30 years, Ellen also understands the importance of equal access to legal representation for all people and served as both a board member and president of the Legal Aid Society (The Hiscock Legal Aid Society) for two terms. Ellen’s professional affiliations include serving on the Notre Dame Law Association Board and as the secretary and recruiting coordinator of the Dartmouth Club of CNY.
Robert Duclos—Senior Vice President
Bob has served in project management and leadership roles for a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering projects for nearly 25 years. His projects include major capital projects such as Syracuse’s Lakeview Amphitheater, water and wastewater infrastructure, parks and recreational facilities, solid waste facilities, wireless communications facilities, government radar installations, and general civil engineering developments. Bob is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, ACEC Senior Executives Institute, and Leadership Greater Syracuse.
Michael Hotaling—Senior Vice President
Michael’s entire professional career has been dedicated to assisting airport management find effective solutions to complex issues related to planning and environmental studies, design and construction projects, noise mitigation programs, and creation and deployment of successful community outreach programs. He was a member of the FAA Western Pacific Region’s executive committee charged with developing the first-ever best practices guide for California airports. His projects include master plans, environmental assessments and other specialized planning studies for more than 30 airport sponsors.
Jim Olcott—Senior Vice President
Jim leads C&S’s energy solutions group, which focuses on the identification and implementation of energy efficiency upgrades and analyzes new technologies and financing structures for clients, including solar, LED and building automation. Jim has more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector. His work includes identifying, developing, and implementing energy conservation and generation projects. Jim also provides commodity consulting services to clients, advising on traditional and renewable procurement strategies. He has led the development of millions of dollars in cost savings projects including engineering, financing, and contract structuring.
Joe Ryan—Senior Vice President and General Manager
Joe is senior vice president and general manager of C&S Technical Resources and C&S Design Build. His construction experience spans three decades, with an emphasis on design-build and integrated project delivery systems. His customer-centered approach leads to project solutions that exceed the client’s needs, helping C&S excel in the at-risk construction market. Joe brings a well-rounded knowledge of field and office operations combined with his communication skills and commitment to quality results in excellent project delivery. While leading the at-risk construction practice at C&S he has developed a professional and well-respected team while continuously mentoring new construction professionals to help advance their careers.
Maureen Clegg—Vice President
Maureen has more than 30 years of experience in structural engineering and project management. She serves as program manager for some of C&S’s largest and most complicated projects, including the structural design for the Greater Orlando International Airport South Terminal Complex Phase 1. She manages more than 40 engineers and architects who work on multi-discipline healthcare, higher education, sound attenuation, and municipal building projects. Maureen is a graduate of Villanova University and ACEC Senior Executives Institute, is a licensed professional engineer in six states, and a LEED Accredited Professional. She heads C&S’s internal audit committee and runs our project management training classes.
