C&S Companies (“C&S”) has developed this Privacy Policy to inform you about the privacy practices for its websites. Our California Privacy Policy is also included below.

This Privacy Policy will inform you about:

a) The information C&S gathers about you;

b) How C&S uses and with whom it shares the information gathered;

c) Your ability to opt-out of future communication as a result of information gathered via its websites; and

d) How you can update, correct or delete your information.

Information C&S Gathers About You:

Personal or Private Information

C&S does not collect any personal or private information from you, as a visitor to a C&S website, unless you explicitly and intentionally provide it. Under no circumstances does C&S collect any personal or private data revealing your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health, or sex life. If you are simply browsing a C&S website, then C&S does not gather any personal or private information about you. When C&S requests information about you, only such information as you provide voluntarily will be collected by the website.

There are five (5) ways, described below, by which you may explicitly and intentionally provide C&S with, and consent to its collection of, certain personal or private information:

  1. Email Request for Information Sent to C&S – C&S encourages visitors to its websites to contact C&S regarding information viewed on the websites. C&S uses links throughout its websites to afford you the opportunity to contact us via email. Please note that C&S’s services are provided under contract or agreement only. Although every effort will be made to respond to your inquiry, an inquiry to any of the C&S companies does not constitute a contract or agreement for any service or product that any of the C&S companies may or may not provide.
  1. Article Forwarding Service – Some of our websites may offer you the ability to email articles to a friend or colleague, including your comments along with the articles. Each of these transactions is recorded, and both the sender’s and recipient’s email addresses are preserved and analyzed as your protection that third parties do not abuse this service. This information is not used for direct solicitation of either party.
  1. On-line surveys – C&S occasionally posts surveys of interest to specific markets served by the C&S companies. Participants will be provided with the opportunity to receive the results upon completion of the survey. C&S collects participants’ names, companies, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for the purposes of (a) maintaining survey integrity; (b) clarifying answers to survey questions; and (c) transmitting the results of the survey. C&S also collects the answers to the survey. Survey results are aggregated and reported as statistical data only. C&S does not reveal the names of participants or specific responses (except as representative responses that are not attributed to any specific individual or entity).
  1. On-line Seminar Enrollment – C&S sponsors and participates in information exchanges, seminars, and professional meetings throughout the year. C&S’s websites may afford you the opportunity to enroll in these activities by completing an on-line form. C&S may request your name, address, telephone number, and email address in connection with your enrollment. C&S will share this information only with other listed sponsors of the event and to facilitate the logistics of the event.C&S actively discourages vendors associated with its events from soliciting participants for other purposes, but cannot expressly prevent them from doing so. If you feel that you have been unreasonably solicited as a result of your participation in a C&S event, please contact webmaster@cscos.com. C&S welcomes such information and uses it in the preparation of future events.
  1. Submitting a Job Application – C&S collects and uses information you provide when submitting online applications for job vacancies or otherwise when you express interest in joining the C&S Companies team. Your personal information will be processed in accordance with the terms of a separate Recruitment Site Privacy Notice.If you are selected for an opening, then your personal information will be further processed in accordance with a separate employee privacy policy in effect at the time of your onboarding.

Other services, which include managed website access, may require the use of user names and passwords for the purpose of restricting access to controlled areas of C&S’ websites.

Statistical Information About Your Visit:

When you visit a C&S website, C&S’s computers may automatically collect statistics about your visit. This information does not identify you personally; rather, it tracks the activity on C&S’s websites by Internet Protocol (IP) address. C&S uses Google Analytics to provide statistical data. C&S may use this information to learn how many people visit C&S’s websites; which web pages were visited most often; and which browsers people use. C&S uses these statistics about your visit for aggregation purposes only to help improve the performance of its websites.

“Do Not Track” Disclosure:

C&S does not acknowledge visitors’ “Do Not Track” (DNT) settings. C&S does not track its clients and customers over time or across third-party websites. Some third-party sites used by C&S’s website, such as Google Analytics, may keep track of your browsing activities across websites.

Use of Cookies:

C&S uses “cookies” only in password-protected portions of its websites, and only to identify users while they maintain an active session on their browser. A “cookie” is a piece of information that the website sends to your browser, which then stores this information on your system. If you choose not to accept a cookie, then you will still be able to use the public (non-password protected) portion of a C&S website, but your ability to post and forward information, if such features exist on the website, may be limited.

How C&S May Use Personal or Private Information:

C&S does not share any information it receives from its communication with website visitors with any third-party entity, nor does C&S use such information for any purpose not explicitly granted by the visitor supplying the information.

C&S may:

a) Send you responses and updates of information you have requested from a C&S website;

b) Facilitate the support, renewal, and purchase of C&S’s services;

c) Validate your identity (if you are accessing managed sections of a website);

d) Disclose all information that C&S has obtained from you to a duly authorized local, state, or federal agency, as required by law;

e) Request your participation in surveys, based upon information you have provided to C&S and only with your permission to request such participation. Each communication will include the ability for you to decline further inquiries; and/or

f) Consider an applicant’s qualifications for a posted job opening.

Opting-out of Future Communication:

To opt-out of receiving future communication as a result of information gathered via this website, send an email to webmaster@cscos.com. Please specify “Opt-Out” in the subject line of your email. C&S will endeavor to process your request within three (3) business days. We will remove your email address from our contact list. Please note that opting-out will cover all communication from C&S, including information you may have requested from C&S and job applicant notifications.

Changes to this Privacy Policy:

C&S has the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When C&S does so, it will set forth the updated date at the bottom of this page. C&S encourages visitors to check this page frequently for any changes so that they may stay informed about how C&S is helping to protect the personal information collected from visitors. Each visitor acknowledges and agrees that it is their responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically to become aware of modifications to it.

Visitor Acceptance of these Terms:

Through accessing and by using this website, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, then you should not use this website. Your continued use of the website following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy, as described above, will be deemed to be your acceptance of those changes.

California Privacy Policy

This APPLICANT AND EMPLOYEE PRIVACY NOTICE FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS (this “Notice”) supplements the information contained in the above Privacy Policy of C & S Companies (“C&S,” ”we,” or “us”) and applies solely to all applicants for employment with, or directors, officers, employees, former employees, or contractors of, C&S (referred to collectively in this Notice as “employees”) who reside in the State of California (“you”). This Notice describes the collection and use by C&S of certain personal information about employees and is intended to satisfy the applicable notice requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), and other California privacy laws applicable to C&S.  Any terms defined in the CCPA and/or the CPRA have their same meaning when used in this Notice.

This Notice informs employees of the categories of personal information we collect from them, the categories of sources of personal information collected, and the business or commercial purposes for which C&S will use the personal information.

Personal Information C&S Collects

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular California resident or household (“personal information”). In particular, we may collect, and within the past twelve (12) months we may have collected, the following categories of personal information from the sources identified below in connection with an employee’s application for employment, employment consideration, employment, or termination of employment:

C&S may collect personal information from employees when, for example, they fill out an employment application with our contracted third party (currently, UKG Pro®), or complete onboarding documents; or file a claim for benefits; or from former employees, placement firms, or referral sources; or from your transactions with C&S. C&S also collects personal information from third parties as permitted by law, such as from service providers, background check providers, Employment Eligibility Verification Services (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), certification or licensure governing bodies, and motor vehicle record providers.

Business or Commercial Purpose for which C&S Collected Personal Information

Below are examples of the reasons for which C&S, or a third party contracted by C&S, such as UKG Pro®, may use or disclose the personal information it collects, depending upon whether you are an applicant for employment with C&S or are a director, officer, or current or former C&S employee or a contractor of C&S.

  • Identifying candidates, including by working with external recruiters or job placement entities
  • Scheduling and conducting interviews
  • Making decisions about your recruitment or employment
  • Extending offers of employment, negotiating the terms of such offers, and communicating those terms
  • Determining the terms of your employment
  • Checking whether you are legally eligible to work for C&S
  • Maintaining and administering your employment records
  • Administering your employee benefits
  • Paying you, and making applicable or required deductions from your pay
  • Managing absences and leaves

We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

We may share your personal information with a third party in connection with the operation of C&S’s businesses or the performance of C&S’s services, as permitted or required by applicable law or regulation.
