Project

Passenger Boarding Bridge Improvements

C&S was the architect and engineer for the replacement of existing passenger boarding bridges A4, B9, B11, and C2 and rehabilitation of existing bridges A5, B5, B7, B8 and B10 at Albany International Airport. The project scope included detailed field work to assess the condition of all nine bridges and develop a list of necessary improvements for prioritization and budgeting.

The final project involved the replacement of three bridges and the replacement of tires on the remainder to ease operation concerns for end users. The refurbishments to the other five bridges were bid as add-on items to allow flexibility in award. In addition to the passenger boarding bridges, C&S included foundation analysis, electrical power distribution, and new preconditioned air and ground power units to improve sustainability and energy efficiency at the airport.
