Victory at San Diego State University

C&S was selected through a competitive qualification process to lead the construction of a landmark development near San Diego State University (SDSU).

Located at 5505 Lindo Paseo—one of the primary western gateways to the SDSU campus—the project is a mixed-use, off-campus rental housing community designed to address the university’s growing
housing needs. The development delivers 26 residential units, including:

  • 4 three-bedroom units
  • 9 four-bedroom units
  • 13 five-bedroom units

This configuration provides over 210 new beds, significantly alleviating the student housing shortage in the surrounding area. The building features five stories of wood-framed, Type IIIA sprinklered construction atop one story of Type IA sprinklered construction, plus a basement—maximizing the site’s 60-foot height limit. Additional highlights include:

  • An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) with added living spaces
  • Two outdoor communal areas
  • A pool within an interior courtyard
  • A rooftop terrace
  • A below-grade student lounge designed for quiet study hours in a noise-reduced environment
