C&S Selected as Outstanding Corporation for Philanthropy Efforts
In a ceremony in honor of National Philanthropy Day, C&S was selected as the 2021 Outstanding Corporation by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central NY Chapter (AFP CNY). C&S was nominated and chosen to receive this award because of dedication and commitment to organizations in the community. The Outstanding Corporation award is given to a corporation or its corporate foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.
National Philanthropy Day is a special day to recognize and pay tribute to the meaningful contributions that philanthropy make to our lives, communities and world. This year, AFP CNY joined chapters across the country and around the world on November 15 to celebrate National Philanthropy Day 2021 and honor individuals, organizations and businesses in the Central New York Area who generously gave their time, talents and resources for the enrichment and benefit of their communities.
In 2019, the C&S Foundation, Inc., was established to put the power of giving into the hands of our employees. The Foundation supports qualifying non-profit organizations nominated by C&S’s employees. The C&S Foundation stimulates positive impacts to humanitarian, educational, and community causes through financial support and volunteerism in the areas where C&S’s employees live and work. The Association of Fundraising Professionals of Central New York (AFP-CNY) is a professional association for individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of nonprofit, charitable organizations. AFP advances philanthropy in society by enabling people and organizations to practice effective and ethical fundraising. The core activities through which AFP fulfills this mission include education, training, mentoring, research, credentialing, and advocacy. AFP members and affiliates enable people and organizations to better serve diverse communities and the Association as a whole.
