C&S proudly announces that Corey Johnson, CEM, ENV SP, Director of Aviation Sustainability, has received Airport Business Magazine’s prestigious 2025 Top 40 Under 40 award. Corey exemplifies leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing sustainability in the aviation industry.

Corey is an energetic and passionate professional who combines his love for aviation with a commitment to decarbonization. As the leader of C&S’s national Aviation Sustainability team, Corey spearheads strategies that help airports across the United States achieve net zero carbon emission goals. Under his leadership, a team of six sustainability experts delivers creative, forward-thinking solutions to clients nationwide.

A Yale University graduate with a master’s degree in Environmental Management, Corey holds certifications as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). He is also an FAA-licensed private pilot, bringing a unique perspective to his work. With over 15 years of experience, Corey has become a driving force in sustainability, resiliency, and decarbonization initiatives within aviation.

Corey’s professional accomplishments are extensive. He actively engages with industry organizations such as the Association of Energy Engineers, Airports Consultants Council (ACC), American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), and Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA). As a recognized subject matter expert, Corey has presented on electrification, decarbonization, and airport resiliency at numerous conferences and webinars. His leadership has guided major airports toward achieving Airport Carbon Accreditation, implementing renewable energy projects, and integrating sustainability into planning, design, and construction.

One of Corey’s most notable contributions is the development of airportnetzero.com, a collaborative effort with Steer. This innovative platform provides airports with resources to understand and reduce their carbon footprint, including a user-friendly Airport Decarbonization Calculator that estimates timelines for achieving net zero carbon emissions.

Corey’s commitment to the aviation industry extends beyond client work. He mentors emerging professionals, educates colleagues on decarbonization strategies, and continuously seeks innovative solutions to meet evolving industry needs. His expertise spans renewable energy development, climate risk assessments, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), and greenhouse gas management. Corey’s forward-thinking approach ensures that C&S Companies remains at the forefront of sustainability and resiliency in aviation.
